RECO stands for the Real Estate Council of Ontario. RECO is a self-managed, not-for-profit corporation that is responsible for governing real estate professionals in the province of Ontario, Canada. Its primary purpose is to protect the public interest by enforcing the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2002 (REBBA 2002) and its Code of Ethics. RECO ensures that individuals working in the real estate sector adhere to the regulatory standards, which helps maintain a fair and professional real estate market in Ontario. RECO also handles complaints, provides information and resources to consumers, and offers education and licensing for real estate professionals
